VITO FindMe 1.0 – Let your friends know where you are

August 13th, 2007

There seem to be two great uses for VITO FindMe – to check where your nearest and dearest is at any given time and to check where your nearest and dearest isn’t at any given time. But don’t worry too much about security problems, spying and breaches of confidentiality with this one. Vito will only work if the owner of the mobile hands over their security code first.

It seems a great package for parents especially. All you do is send the security code as a text message to the user’s phone and a message will be returned with coordinates. Then put these into Google Maps and see the location. Would be nice if it was better sychronised with Google Maps so you could know the location without inputting co-ordinates but it’s not a problem if you have internet access.
