PocketGravity 0.01 – Defy gravity with this amusing game

I’m a big fan of gravity, and I reckon without it the World would be a much worse place (although obviously a much quieter one). So I thought I’d test out this Pocket PC game, which simulates the force of gravity in an entertaining way.

The basic premise is to create shapes and objects on screen that then bounce and float around under the influence of gravity. There are a number of drawing tools housed in the toolbar at the bottom of the screen. It takes a little while to get to figure out what each of them do, but once you do, you’ll find there’s lots you can do with them. You can create squares and rectangles, draw circles and lines, and stick them all together using the pin tool.

Once you’ve designed your shape/object/drawing you simply hit play and watch gravity take hold. The images will fall slowly then bounce (if they’re the right size) and float around the screen. You can easily pause the action and add more shapes, as well as going back and forth through the stages of your design.

It’s really great fun to play around with and the animation is simply mesmeric at times, making for a relaxing way to pass some time. It would’ve been nice to see some effects and different colours thrown in even though without this, there’s still enough scope to create a diverse range of objects.

Although ultimately useless, PocketGravity offers an enjoyable way to play around with the force that keeps our feet on the ground.
