Handylearn Counter 1.1.3 – Capture and process statistics on your phone
Capturing data for quantitative field studies can be a pain, especially if you’re trying to do it using a pen and paper. If you’re trying to count the number of cars that pass you in order to complete a traffic survey or measure the number of leaves that fall off a tree on an autumn day then it makes sense to employ some kind of counting device. Handylearn Counter fits the bill perfectly, allowing you to record information with a single button.
The program employs a simple, yet effective system. You assign a key to a particular feature or variable then hit this every time this variable occurs. For instance, if you wanted to measure the colour of cars on a road, you could assign a different button to each colour then simply press that key every time a car of that colour goes past.
Once you’ve collected all of the data, Handylearn Counter can be used to analyse the results by transforming the statistics into one of a number of different charts or graphs.
It’s no use for capturing data for qualitative studies but for simple, counting-based projects, Handylearn is a simple and effective solution.
